Welcome to Ste Genevieve! The disc golf course is in the Pere Marquette Park, which is north of the downtown area. From I-55, exit 150 eastbound (MO 32). Highway 32 becomes 4th Street. Stay on 4th (it officially changes to White Sands Rd just before the park) all the way through the city to the park, make a Right turn at the park entrance. #1 tee is across from the first pavilion on the left, just across from Riverview at the Park Nursing Home. This course is challenging due to hills, hills, and more hills. The baskets were made by a local welder, with an innovative design. The only real walk between basket and tee is from #5 to #6, which requires crossing the street and walking behind the swimming pool. Course design by Steve Hoog(#21177) and Mark Arnold(#15655). Jay Roth was instrumental in the installation process, and has continued adding touches. Please note that several holes have been moved as of August, 2012. New things are coming! Thanks to the Park Board, Darren Jacobs, Dave Pinkley, and the City of Ste Genevieve government and staff for all of their help.
The baskets are unique, but your putting will be improved! The locals call this "getting Frenched".
Food and beverages are available along US 61, starting just south of MO 32. Fast food and convenience stores are there, and more formal restaurants are in the downtown area near the county courthouse. Taverns are plentiful throughout Ste Genevieve, but please don't drink and drive!
Please enjoy the hospitality of our local shops, and explore the history of Ste Genevieve.
For more information on the sport of Disc Golf, check out the PDGA website. www.pdga.comSteGenDiscGolf@gmail.com Please contact us with any questions, concerns, if you lost a disc, found a disc, or anything!
There are 2 primary mottos embraced by disc golfers: "Most Fun Wins" and "Leave the Course Cleaner Than You Found It." Skill is fine, but Fun is even more important. Please help keep Pere Marquette Park clean by putting trash, cigarette butts, etc, in proper disposal containers. Email us with any questions about the Pere Marquette Park course, rules, equipment, or anything to do with the game of Disc Golf.
If you're coming from Southern Illinois, you can take the US 51 bridge at Chester to MO H. Right on H to US 61 in St Mary, and north on US 61 to Ste Genevieve. Turn Right on St Mary's Road, which turns into Main Street. Continue on Main to the east entrance to the park. Follow the main road to the pavilion nearest the west entrance, you'll see the sign for #1 next to the road by that pavilion.
Or, for a unique river experience, the Modoc Ferry runs daily, during daylight hours, as river conditions allow.
Call ahead to be sure the ferry is operating. The east park entrance is about 1/2 mile from the river landing. Take a right into the park, and follow the main road toward the west entrance. You'll see the pavilion and the sign for #1.
Campgrounds are available in Hawn State Park (some of the best hiking in Missouri as well!) about 10 miles west on Highway 32, the road you likely used from the Missouri side. Hawn State Park
